About Me

I am a freelance fashion, beauty and style writer based in Scotland. I regulary contribute to Vogue.com and I blog for The Huffington Post UK. I have undertaken work for Tatler and Harper's Bazaar in London, as well as writing for Scottish publications including Scottish Woman, The Courier and One magazine.

Reading so many blogs inspired me to start my own. Since a young age I’ve been a day dreamer – I’m forever staring out of windows, or flitting from one thought to the next, a kind of waterfall of thoughts - so I decided to start my own blog after many days dreaming about it!

My blog is really rather self-indulgent – it will contain my opinion on fashion, beauty and style. Of course I am open to comments, but my blog is not my way of saying how it is, or how it should be, but simply how I see it. Fashion, beauty and style should be fun, so I am definitely not here to ruin it! The Daydreamer is a place to share inspiration and imagination.

If asked who my favourite designers are I would say Oscar de la Renta and DvF, and of the new generation, I love, love, love Erdem and Jason Wu.

My style inspiration? I try to dress for my curves, but I am head over heels for women who simply look fabulous - whatever their size. Think Sophia Loren, Daphne Guinness, Anna Dello Russo, Julia Reston Roitfeld, Cindy Crawford, and of course the fictional SATC girls. I could go on about who I'm a huge fan of in the fashion industry but we'd be here all day and as you can tell, the waterfall of thoughts has already begun to flow...

I love to travel and see new places and new people and new cultures... have a particularly soft spot in my heart for Australia... a bit of a haute hippy, I guess.

Anyway, if you want to join in then feel free to comment on my posts, or get in touch through the contact section. I hope you do, but if not: thank you for taking the time to visit. ♥
